What is Augmented Intelligence?

Augmented Intelligence is the enhancement of human decision-making and abilities through the use of artificial intelligence. 

Also referred to as intelligence amplification, Augmented Intelligence simply combines the best of humans and AI.

Understanding Human vs. Artificial Intelligence

When we consider Human Intelligence, I want you to think of a car.  This car has no technology or advanced features. No GPS, no lane assist, no blind spot detection. Completely manual.

Now on the other hand, we have Artificial Intelligence which is comparable to an autonomous or self driving car - think Tesla. You program in the destination and the machine/technology does all of the work and decision making to end up at the destination

Where Does Augmented Intelligence Fit In?

Augmented Intelligence is the middle ground and how most of us probably use our cars today. You are the primary decision maker when it comes to operating the vehicle, but technology is there to assist.

It uses a GPS to guide you to a destination while finding heavy traffic areas to suggest better routes - but you pick the route.

It has lane assist that can beep or vibrate your seat when you veer out of your lane - but you make the correction.

Our cars augment the driving experience by using tech to help us make better decisions and ultimately operate our vehicles more effectively and efficiently.

This is augmented intelligence.

The Power of AI + Human Intelligence

At its core, augmented intelligence represents a harmonious blend of human cognitive skills and AI's computational power. It's not about machines replacing human roles; instead, it's about AI supplementing and supporting human intelligence (anytime I use the acronym "AI" I am referring to artificial intelligence).

And your ability to fully understand this concept can help answer the question I get most often: 
👉 Where can I use AI in my sales process or business?

Answering this question is not easy. But investing your time to find the answer is worthwhile.

Where Should You Start?

Honestly, I don't know...

It might not even be with AI!

For some, the first place to start might be automation. Or for others, the first step might be to add a CRM.

The Right Order Matters

While AI can be enticing as it promises a lot of value for a business and individual, you need to be able to crawl, then walk, then run.

And implementing AI into your business before implementing a CRM or basic technology is going about it a bit backwards if you ask me.

So instead of asking:
"Where should my business start?"

Ask this instead:
💡 Where are the bottlenecks in my business?
💡 Where could technology help mitigate or resolve these bottlenecks completely?

It's an easier question to ask than it is to answer.

And that's why there are many people, like myself, who help businesses and individuals learn how they can begin using AI today!
